Caitlin Cary is a visual artist, musician and activist who has been living and working in North Carolina since the early 90's. Her fabric collages, which she refers to as "Needleprints" (Needleprints are sewn fabric collage on paper), focus on local landmarks and architecture. Recently she has featured wonderful portraiture of musicians such as Dolly Parton, Doc Watson and blues icon Elizabeth Cotten; the latter was used as the cover art of the the Fall 2017 edition of NO DEPRESSION, the journal of roots music.
Caitlin has a colorful and diverse history of artistic accomplishment, playing and singing in the iconic band WHISKEYTOWN with Ryan Adams, duetting with Thad Cockrell, founding the super-girl-group TRES CHICAS and releasing three acclaimed solo albums.
